
More than 25 Nigerians have been arrested in Kenya » for overstaying their visas, the Kenya Immigration office has said.
The immigration office also urged Kenyans to report any suspected illegal immigrants in their respective areas.
“Over 25 Nigerians arrested today in Nairobi, Kasarani, Roysambu, Mirema area for being in the country illegally after their visa validity elapsed.
Please give report if any around your area,” the office said via Twitter on Friday, October 21.
“Most of them stay like 5 or so in one house. Before you rent any foreigner a house, kindly ask for their valid stay documents in Kenya,” it added.
The tweets have received responses from Kenyans who were urged to give specific details of suspects.
The Immigration Office also received responses from Nigerians who wanted to know why their compatriots were being specifically mentioned.
