Engage Oshiomhole to serve Nigeria with his talents, Edo North leaders urge Buhari

BENIN —FOLLOWING an earlier promise by President Muhammadu Buhari that the All Progressives Congress, APC- led federal government would engage the immediate past governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, political leaders from Edo North senatorial district of the state, weekend, appealed to the President to ensure that Oshiomhole was given an assignment where he could use his abundant talents to serve Nigeria.

The leaders also expressed gratitude to Oshiomhole for finding a lasting solution to the erosion problem in Auchi before his exit as governor, saying that some of the projects executed in Edo North would not have been possible if Oshiomhole had not been governor.

Speaking after the leaders welcomed Oshiomhole home at a well organized reception held at the Auchi Polytechnic ground, Alhaji Usman Shagadi and former Secretary to Edo State Government, Simon Imuekhe, advised that the nation must not allow Oshiomhole’s abundant talents to be wasted.

According to Shagadi, “We were glad when the President said APC would engage Oshiomhole so that he would not waste his talent after his eight years tenure.

We want Oshiomhole to play the type of politics he played in Edo State at the national level so that Nigerians will benefit from him too.

We want Nigerians to benefit from his talents; we don’t want him to be confined where people will not benefit from his intelligence. We are today proud to come from Edo North because Oshiomhole made all of us proud.

The three senatorial districts of the state have benefited from Oshiomhole’s administration.
“I can tell you that Oshiomhole executed three projects that we are very proud of here in Edo North.

Firstly, road from Ekperi to Anegbete, second is the one from Jattu to Emegbai and the Auchi erosion project. We believe that no other governor would have done these three projects for us if he was not our son.”

Also speaking, Dr Imuekheme, said: “ We decided to organize the reception for him because he was wonderful and we need to celebrate him. He has wiped our tears and we will continue to celebrate him. The Federal Fovernment should help us engage him so he can continue to work for Nigeria.”
