Hundreds of protesters today, November 2, stormed major roads in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) demanding that judges recently indicted for alleged corruption step down.
The protesters under the aegis of Forum of Non-Governmental Organisations in Nigeria tried to march on to Aso Rock Presidential Villa but were stopped.
The group then proceeded to the ministry of justice and Federal High Court, Abuja chanting ”War against corruption: No Untouchable.”
Speaking during the protest, the leader of the group, Mr Oluwole Daini said: “We are here to tell the Attorney General of the Federation that enough is enough with respect to corruption in the judiciary.
“We have come to pass this message clearly through the office of the AGF to the judges that were arrested by the DSS and presently refusing to step down to step down if they don’t want us to occupy Nigerian courts.
“We are ready to make sure that the right things are done in the judiciary. And there is no going back about this.”
